THE VIEW has splashed out approximately $10 million on a tricked-out new set, but not everyone at ABC is happy about the big change.
An insider close to The View’s production exclusively told The U.S. Sun that the set at the new ABC studios in downtown Manhattan is costing a fortune, and network staffers are “furious” to hear about the major expenditure.

On Wednesday, The View shared a promo for their new studio ahead of the season premiere Tuesday September 3
“They’re in the process of moving all the rest of the cast and crew’s personal items from the old ABC studios uptown to their new studios downtown.
“People are furious about the move. Another 150 people got fired at the start of this month meanwhile The View is spending $10 million on a brand-new set.”
The insider said everything is new, not just some staples.
“They aren’t telling everyone it’s a brand-new set, because they don’t want to upset everyone getting let go.
“But they are not bubble-wrapping things to bring over, this is all new. New View table, new chairs, brand new background, all designed from scratch.
“This is a multi-million-dollar set,” the insider claimed. “Even the mugs are new!”
On Wednesday, The View dropped a promo for their new season in their new studio, which was shared with People.
In the shiny new promo, host Sara Haines says: “We’re moving downtown to the hottest new studio to match our hot topics.”
DRESSING ROOM DRAMA
The new set isn’t the only thing causing drama over at The View in ABC’s new downtown digs.
As The U.S. Sun exclusively reported, host Whoopi Goldberg is none too pleased her dressing room is lacking a bathroom.
The daytime talk show veteran, who has sat at the helm of the show for 17 years, is said to be angry about the dressing room ABC has given her in the new downtown New York City studio for The View.
“It’s so small, and she doesn’t have her own bathroom,” the insider quipped.
A second source explained that the long-standing host is used to her luxe accommodations at the former studio uptown.
“Whoopi had the biggest dressing room with an ensuite including a shower and full bathroom,” the insider added.
The source said that other than the veteran host, only Joy Behar had her own bathroom.
However, Whoopi’s room was the largest.
“She had a large table in her room, so she would hold the morning meetings and all the ladies would have to go to Whoopi’s in the morning,” the second insider added.
The View hosts

The View is an American talk show airing on ABC from 11am-12pm EST, Monday through Friday. It features a diverse group of women that discuss the day’s “Hot Topics”, ranging from hard-hitting news to celebrity gossip. The six co-hosts include:
The first source said that despite grumbles over the move, the 68-year-old daytime host is not about to leave her dressing room fate to her ABC overlords.
“She’s moving her production office, which is currently near the ABC uptown studios, right next door to the new ABC studios downtown.”Whoopi is that determined to use her own dressing room at her production studios, rather than use the paltry ABC accommodations,” the first insider quipped.
